Description
MAX30102 and MAX30100 heart rate sensors compared:
- FIFO (First-In-First-Out) Memory:
- MAX30102: It has a 32-sample memory bank, allowing it to hold up to 32 SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) and heart rate samples.
- MAX30100: In contrast, the MAX30100 has a smaller FIFO with only 16 samples
- ADC Resolution:
- MAX30102: It boasts an 18-bit ADC resolution, making it more sensitive to changes in infrared (IR) voltages.
- MAX30100: The MAX30100 has a 16-bit resolution
- LED Pulse Width:
- Both sensors are capable of measuring heart rate and SpO2 levels, but the MAX30102’s higher resolution and larger FIFO make it a more robust choice for accurate readings.
In summary, if you’re looking for better performance and more data storage, the MAX30102 is the superior option. However, keep in mind that interfacing with your chosen display (such as the 2.4″ TFT LCD Touch Screen Shield) may require additional adjustments due to the different screen size and interface compared to the commonly used LCD16x2
